I have been very fortunate to attract an extremely supportive clientele since formally starting this company in 2006. My customers truly provide much of the motivation that keeps me going. I actually got into the videography and video tribute business back in 2002 after finally giving up on the idea of returning to the corporate world as a Silicon Valley marketing communications director. My parents asked me to put together a tribute for their 50th anniversary comprised of family photos, slides and old 8mm family movies. I was so pleased when I received such a positive response to the short piece that I began looking for other opportunities to produce additional tributes.

Shortly thereafter, and at the suggestion of one of my clients, I began adding special event videotaping services. My mom later told me that she wasn’t surprised because she could still remember me spending summers with my friends and a Super8 camera producing our own versions of the Keystone Cops.

Today, I use this love and interest in filmmaking to capture the special moments at weddings, Bar Mitzvahs & Bah Mitzvahs, birthdays and anniversaries. I also enjoy combining my skills as a filmmaker with the experience I picked up as marketing communications professional to help technology and other types of businesses in the local area with their video needs.

As you can see, Your Story Video Productions is a very small business, and we will probably keep it that way for some time to come. The fact of the matter is that while lower overhead allows us to keep our prices down, it also allows us to concentrate on and provide you, the client, with very high quality and personally customized video services.

I liked to close with an anecdote that I think goes a long way to help demonstrate how we approach our special event work. A wedding videographer from a much larger competitor once told me that after capturing the ceremony, his goal was to get “all of the important stuff – the bride & groom’s entrance, the speeches, toasts, bouquet & garter toss, and about twenty minutes of dancing before wrapping it up. Because, after all, what else was there to record?”

Well, at Your Story Video Productions we aren’t sure what else may happen, but we do know that our clients have hired us to capture the day – the entire day. And after all, there’s nothing more precious than a jubilant groom dancing with his tearful but proud mother, a father brought to tears as he toasts his beautiful daughter and her new husband, or the smile on a young boy as he dances with his aunt on her wedding day. We understand how important these moments are, and how much you will cherish these memories in the years to come. That’s why we do our best to capture them all! And that’s the same sort of dedication you will experience with every project we undertake.
